Josh Vogel vs. Henry Matamoros Superfight at King Grappler

Josh Vogel from Balance studios vs. Henry Matamoros at King Grappler event on Sept. 20th 2008 in Madison Wisconsin. It was an honor to compete against Henry as he is an experienced and respected Grappler and a Black belt under Pedro Sauer. Thanks to Mark Severtson of Badgerland Jiujitsu in Madison for having me and Ricardo Migliarese down for the event and Ricks seminar.

good old flower sweep sets up loads of other stuff. Almost like omoplata in that the sweep itself is actually used more as a setup than sweep; omoplata is used more as a sweep than a submission.

    good job josh.

  • MikeyTriangles:

    Sweet armbar

I watched this video like 2 nights before the last grapplers quest. That’s why I got a little disapointed when I saw your name in the brackets on the same side as mine, lol.

Henry has always been a poor sport and a general deushebag

that was awesome. he didn’t want to get caught and he couldn’t loose you…good close and all around thoughtful match. nice work.

    Nice match, Josh!

Wow! It just goes to show you how much of the grappling game is mental. You stayed very cool and relaxed, and took the armbar when it presented itself. Textbook.
